Lovely Day...

The weather this weekend has been brilliant. Yesterday morning was foggy when we left the house to go to Master T's swimming lesson, he is moving up to stage 3 in a couple of weeks. I managed to pop into the library and borrowed The Help DVD. When we got home i started working on putting the greenhouse together. After that i planted some Dahlia bulbs and some flower and vegetable seeds to put in the greenhouse.

Today i did more gardening including mowing my lawn and more planting. The highlight of our day definitely has to be the barbecue we had, Master T's idea. All i had to do was rummage through my freezer and fridge to find some food suitable for a barbecue. We sat and aet in the warm sun and afterwards we had a snooze on the freshly mowed grass. Unfortunately i have no photos to show as i was so busy i never got a chance to capture any of the moments.x

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and you made the most of the sun.xx

Deja vu...

Do you ever feel like you are reliving days. I had one of those strange days, conversations that felt like i had already had, episodes of programmes that i felt as if i had watched and moments i would have sworn happened before. I would be interested to hear if anyone has an explanation for such days. I don't believe in reincarnation so that cancels that one out.

On to more exciting news or so Master T says. His class has been chosen to sing for the Mayor in April. The song they will be singing is Adele's Rolling in the deep, he has sang it to me a few times today. We've been on youtube and did a little sing-a-long. He is an ok singer and he has decided that he wants to be a pop star instead of an actor. I had no idea he wanted to be an actor because a week or so ago he wanted to be a fireman, a few days later he wanted to be a street dancer thanks to Asheley Banjo. All i do is agree and tell him he can be whatever he wants to be. I can't keep up, i know he has plenty of time to make up his mind. For the mean time i am going to enjoy listening to the possibilities.

Hope you have all had a great day and are looking forward to the weeken. xx

Endings and Beginnings...

Hello lovely people, hope you are all having a wonderful week and making the most of the sunshine and the longer days. I had a mock Anatomy and Physiology exam today and it looks like i need to study a bit more if i want to to have a really good mark on my final. Today also happens to be my last day at university, no more lectures until October. I do still need to go and sit my final exam in May so that date has been highlighted in my diary. It would be very bad if i fail to show up.

Unfortunately or should i say fortunately depending on how you look at it no more lectures means more time in practice and not holidays or time off. My hours are worked out as if i am working full so i put in thirty seven and a half hours every week. These hours were being shared between my placement and my lectures. Now that there are no lectures i will be putting in all the hours in my placement. Because my hours are calculated as if i am fully employed i do get four weeks holidays so thats a consolation and it seems we are getting an extra day off because of the Queens Jubilee. Anyway enough about my course.

The bulbs i planted in November are shooting so fingers crossed they flower. Do they flower in the 1st year? Talking of growing your own i have been on a frugal shopping spree and among the things i bought is a green house (at last). Roll on Saturday, hope the weather is warm.

Enjoy the rest of your week.xx

March's Challenge Update

11) Look after myself .
12) Try something new/ different this month.
13) Upcycle some of the stuff i have been putting off.
14) Get in touch with someone i havent spoken to in a long time.
15) Sacrfice the extra 30minutes i get in bed on a Thursday morning and take Master T tap dancing.
16) To use cash only when shopping.
17) Not to stress over small stuff.
18) Meet new people/ make new friends.
19) Learn a new skill.
20) Have More Fun.

As you can see most of this months challenges are about ME personally. I am on a small mission to improve my life and i have to start somewhere. I think most of these are doable so wish me luck.

Hope you have all had a good weekend. xx

February Challenge Update

1) Writing a meal plan every week and sticking to it. I did write a meal plan for 3 out of the 4 weeks. I was flexible with it swapping meals around if i did't feel like eating something. The best thing i discovered about meal planning was it actually saved me money because i wasn't panicking last minute thinking what to eat and going to the shops when i had food in the house.
2) Reading one novel this month. I managed to read more than one book, i read three.
3) Learn to use my sewing machine properly and make something with it. Made a felt bag for my friends daughter, see previous post.
4) Tidy the house as i go along instead of leaving it for the weekend. Took some time to get the hang of this challenge but as the month drew to a close i got into it.
5) Eat dinner at the table. Most days we have eaten dinner at the table. Master T isn't keen on this one, he says he only wants to eat dinner at the table on special occassions.
6) Be more involved with Master T. To be honest i don't know how well i have done this challenge, i have been having some problems with his behaviour.
7) Take part in Fat mum slim February photo a day challenge. Failed miserably due to a lack of time.
8) Start thinking and planning my garden. Does buying an Emma Bridgewater gardening journal count. I have sorted out my seed stash and bought compost.
9) Start writing lists of the things i need to do, in other words be more organised. Lists, what lists.
10) Nip my spending in the bud by drawing up a spreadsheet of my income and out goings. This challenge is still work in progress. I have done better than previous months.
11) Blog more often. See for yourself and be the judge of this challenge.

All my challenges are things that i want to be able to do everyday without thinking, things that will hopefully make my life better in one way or another.

Hope you have all enjoyed the lovely weather we had to day.xx
